Trades and local services
People looking for a tradesperson rarely search for a name — they search for a service near them. The order of results in the map panel then decides who gets called at all, and that order leans heavily on the number and average of Google reviews.
Restaurants and hotels
Two profiles run in parallel here: Google for the spontaneous search nearby, Tripadvisor for the planned trip. A strong average on only one of the two leaves a substantial share of demand on the table.
Online stores and B2B
For providers without a shopfront, Trustpilot is often the only external evidence that what was ordered actually gets delivered. On higher-value baskets in particular, the profile gets checked before the purchase.
